What is MPF Group Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is completed on the reformer bed consisting of a sliding carriage, springs, ropes, and pulleys. Resistance is created through the various spring tensions and pulleys in the Reformer bed. In Reformer Pilates there is a larger repertoire of exercises that target all major and minor muscles in the human body. In small concentrated groups of maximum 6, you will work through a larger range of motion. The challenge of the reformer sculpts and tones through dynamic movement flow, challenging your balance, strength, and core stability.
Reformer Pilates is a fantastic addition to an athlete’s training routine, as core stabilisation is fundamental to any athlete as well as muscular endurance, peripheral joint strength, proprioception, lactate tolerance and balance. Reformer Pilates is great for injury rehabilitation. Being able to work in the horizontal plane whilst lying on the bed, it allows for a low impact, lighter resistance workout. The increased stability challenges by the Reformer bed allow for greater stability through joints, increased proprioception, and a faster rehabilitation.
